Hurricane Irma, Storm Chasers and South Carolina
Unless you’ve been in a T.V. and wi-fi disabled cave for the last week, you know a hurricane is hitting the southern United States this weekend. Here in South Carolina it appears, at this point at least, we are going to miss the brunt of it but still get lots of rain and some powerful winds. As soon as that happens, storm chasers are going to start showing up.
What is a Storm Chaser, when it refers to roofing? Storm Chasers are roofing companies that show up from out of town, roof as many houses as possible and skip town…..leaving the homeowner to fend for themselves. Happens every time.
So, what can you do to protect yourself from storm chasers? I’ve written about this in great detail here. But, the two most important things to do after the storm are, either:
- Notify Your Insurance Company. (DO NOT LET A ROOFER FILE A CLAIM FOR YOU)
- Call us and we will look to see if you even have enough damage to file a claim.
